RIVER FRONT PROPERTY WITH SPECTACULAR VIEW

This historic steamboat landing site is located in the historic community of Skamokawa (Skuh-mah-kuh-way), Washington.  The building is listed on the National Register of Historical Places, is on the Lewis & Clark Trail and has a sweeping view of the lower river.

The building is a two-story, seventy by one-hundred foot structure.  One half has been reconstructed for use as a family retreat, containing three bed rooms, each with bath, a large kitchen, and a great room.  The large living and dinning area has a twenty-foot ceiling with two-story windows facing the river with passing ships only 400 yards distant.

The other half of the building contains five rental offices, rest rooms and a storage room on the first floor.  The large corner office contains a conference room and has views of both the main river and Steamboat Slough where the stern-wheelers once arrived.  The second floor above contains an auditorium with stage and rest rooms.  There is seating space for 300 chairs and an occupant capacity of 340 people.  The auditorium has been utilized for public meetings, musicals, and social functions.

The dock consists of a reinforced concrete deck and a concrete moorage float with an approach ramp for small boat moorage.  The deck was designed for 15-ton axle loading.
